Quaternary methyl amine: A strong anion-exchange functionality popular in resin-based packings. Usually supplied in chloride form.
Quaternary mobile phase: A mobile phase comprising four solvents or buffers.
Quaternary-solvent mobile phase: A mobile phase consisting of four separate solvents which allow for fine tuning mobile phase composition; most often this mobile phase is delivered by a low-pressure quaternary pump.
