Difference Between Dissociation and Ionization

It is the process in which new charged particles are produced, it involves metals or polar covalent compounds and always produces charged particles. Ionization is the irreversible process involving covalent bonds between atoms.

This is the process in which ionic compounds take place, it is a reversible process and the dissociation produces electrically neutral particles or charged particles. Dissociation involves ionic bonds in compounds.

The most important difference between dissociation and ionization is that dissociation may or may not produce electrically charged particles while ionization always produces electrically charged particles.
